Chekodilu are little hand-tied rings of rice flour and chana dal, crisp and golden, the kind of snack we always kept in a steel dabba for sudden guests. I knead the dough with hot oil and a pinch of cumin, then roll and join each ring one by one.
They are perfect with your evening tea, light enough to share with the grandchildren and crunchy enough to keep the elders happy. Make a cup of chai and let me sit with you a while.
